  1. Dear Mosaic'ers,

  3. The email load related to Mosaic from all over the world is crushing
  4. my poor little Indigo.  This is *wonderful*, and this level of
  5. external feedback has greatly contributed to the current success of
  6. the Mosaic project (both internally at NCSA and in the outside world).
  7.  
  8. We are in the process of putting together a support team to deal
  9. efficiently and thoroughly with Mosaic questions, comments, bug
  10. reports, and general feedback; this support structure will be moving
  11. into place over the next few months.  We are also in the process of
  12. generating real documentation, including printed beginner-level user
  13. guides and the like, for general distribution and use.

  15. So, two comments.......
  16.  
  17. (a) Please send Mosaic-related correspondence (up to and including bug
  18.     reports) to mosaic-x@ncsa.uiuc.edu whenever possible.  That way,
  19.     all relevant support people (as well as myself) will automatically
  20.     get copies of all incoming messages, which will help the
  21.     preparation and execution of our support plan considerably.

  23. (b) Please don't be discouraged if you don't get a response to a
  24.     question, comment, or bug report immediately.  In particular,
  25.     please don't *stop* sending feedback to us if we haven't responded
  26.     to previous messages in a timely enough manner -- I read, and will
  27.     continue to read, everything that comes in, but I just don't have
  28.     enough time in the day to answer every message myself anymore
  29.     (which is why we're putting together a real support team).  Every
  30.     message you send us is valuable feedback that will be read and, to
  31.     the best of our ability, acted upon.  Over time, we will try to
  32.     catch up and reply to any messages that have slipped by me over
  33.     the past few months and that inadvertently slip through the cracks
  34.     as the support structure falls into place now..... in fact, I'm
  35.     shortly going to dump the contents of my Mosaic mail folders
  36.     (about 12 megs worth) from the last few months on our support
  37.     people, so they'll undoubtedly have plenty to do right off the
  38.     bat.

  40. So, the bottom line is....... keep the feedback and questions coming!
